St. Marys has been rightfully nicknamed "Stonetown", as the town is filled with unique architecture featuring locally-quarried limestone. The stone buildings reveal much about the town's history as the development of the town can actually be witnessed within the unique architecture.
Heritage St. Marys, the local Municipal Heritage Committee, has led the way in preserving and maintaining the unique stone buildings found in St. Marys, a sight that keeps visitors returning time and time again.
